Résumé

The following paper is about the influence Pope John Paul II. had on domestic political occasions in Poland, particularly between 1980 and 1983. His first journey to Poland was a significant impulse for further events relating to the end of the Cold War. He supported the union Solidarność and when the law of war was declared in December 1981 he asked Jaruzelski to quit it. John Pauls second visit in 1983 brought political stability back again and soon after the law of war was stopped.
