Hangmen and the Orchestration of Death in Tyrol from 16^th to 18^th century

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the social character of Tyrolean hangmen in early modern time. The main points are social interaction related to reputation, concrete profession and actualities of life. The conclusion suggests that the extension of professional reputation to private lives is part of the orchestration.
