Kuntersweg – The Medieval Traffic Route Between Brenner and Bozen. The History of the Trail 1314–1484

The following paper examines the history of the so called Kuntersweg, the medieval traffic route between Brenner and Bozen, which was built in 1314 by Heinrich Kunter. It gives a chronological overview of the trail’s history from its construction to its transition to direct sovereign control in 1484 and emphasizes the importance of the Kuntersweg for medieval Tyrol.
